Role overview
The Creative Director is responsible for the overall creative standard, creative vision, and quality of work produced by Hexive Creative Agency.
The role leads the development of concepts, campaigns, brand identities, visual communication, content, advertising, digital experiences, photography, video, and other creative outputs while ensuring that every solution is strategically relevant, visually distinctive, and aligned with the client's objectives.
The Creative Director is both a creative leader and a working creative who can generate ideas, provide clear direction, elevate the work of the team, and confidently present creative thinking to clients.
Key responsibilities
Creative leadership
- Set and maintain the overall creative standard of Hexive.
- Lead the conceptual development of campaigns, brands, content, advertising, digital products, experiences, and communications.
- Translate client objectives and strategy into strong creative ideas.
- Provide clear creative direction to designers, copywriters, photographers, videographers, editors, animators, developers, freelancers, and production partners.
- Ensure the agency's work remains contemporary, original, relevant, and competitive.
Concept development
- Lead brainstorming and concept development sessions.
- Develop campaign platforms, creative territories, visual systems, art direction, storytelling approaches, and key messages.
- Challenge conventional approaches and encourage ambitious creative thinking.
- Ensure concepts are strong enough to work across multiple channels and formats.
Brand & design direction
- Direct the development of brand identities, brand systems, advertising, publications, social content, websites, digital interfaces, environmental graphics, packaging, and other creative applications.
- Ensure consistency in typography, imagery, colour, layout, tone, and overall brand expression.
- Review and approve major creative outputs before presentation or production.
Content, photography & video direction
- Develop creative treatments and visual approaches for photography and video projects.
- Direct shoots where required.
- Guide decisions relating to locations, talent, wardrobe, set design, lighting, framing, storytelling, music, editing, and post-production.
- Review edits and provide creative feedback through final delivery.
Team leadership & development
- Manage, mentor, and develop the creative team.
- Allocate creative work based on strengths, capacity, and project requirements.
- Conduct creative reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Establish standards for file preparation, presentations, creative development, and quality control.
- Identify skills gaps and recommend training, recruitment, freelance, or specialist support.
- Build a culture that values creativity, collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
Client presentations
- Present creative ideas and concepts to clients.
- Explain and defend creative decisions based on strategy, audience, brand, and communication objectives.
- Receive client feedback and determine how it should be incorporated without compromising the integrity of the work.
- Participate in pitches, strategic presentations, and new-business opportunities.
Creative quality control
- Review work at key stages before it reaches the client.
- Ensure creative work meets the brief, brand guidelines, production specifications, and required quality standards.
- Work closely with Account Management and Operations to balance creative ambition with budget, scope, and deadlines.
- Prevent avoidable production errors and inconsistencies.
Agency brand & new business
- Help shape Hexive's own visual identity, portfolio, social presence, website, case studies, showreels, and promotional material.
- Play a leading role in pitches and proposals.
- Identify opportunities for Hexive to create culturally relevant, award-worthy, and internationally competitive work.
- Help position Hexive as one of the region's leading creative agencies.

- Exceptional creative judgement and visual literacy.

Preferred experience
- 5+ years' experience in design, advertising, branding, creative direction, content, digital, or a related creative field.
- Previous experience leading creative teams or major creative projects.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking and high-quality execution across multiple disciplines.
- Agency experience is strongly preferred.
